Azimuth

The azimuth is the angle measured positively towards the west from the south along the horizon up to the foot of the vertical circle of the celestial body. Together with the height and the zenith distance it composes the horizontal coordinates. The angle in the horizontal plane between the observer and the observed object. Measured from 0° to 360° in the retrograde direction from the south in astronomy.
