Spreading (agricultural practice)
Spreading is an agricultural practice that consists of spreading fertilisers, enrichments, herbicides or pesticides over a field.
Most often, spreading refers to practices used to fertilise fields, meaning the spreading of cattle excrement (manure, liquid manure) or sludge from sewage treatment stations.
Regulatory constraints govern this practice in order to recycle organic matter and dispose of waste while limiting the risks of pollution, human contamination and olfactory nuisances.
