GMO

A GMO is a genetically modified organism. The Council of the European Union's definition: "any biological entity capable of replicating or transferring genetic material (...) modified in a manner that does not take place naturally by reproduction and/or natural recombination". This definition can be limited to plants, in which case the term "GMP" (genetically modified plants) is used.
