Robot
A robot is a machine for carrying out certain tasks autonomously. Industrial robots work on assembly lines. A robot can be mobile and use various means of locomotion. It can be anthropoid, imitating the human form.
Origin of the word robot
The word comes from a Czech play in which an artificial worker was used for servitude, which in Czech is "robota".
