SIM microscopy
The SIM, or super-high resolution microscope, is a new generation of microscopes called nanoscopes. SIM microscopy is one of the super-resolution microscopy techniques, with:
- STED;
- PALM/STORM;
- dynamic super-resolution
Principle of the SIM microscopy technique
SIM (structured-illumination microscopy) is based on the illumination of a sample by several patterns of light. The image obtained by the moiré effect is then recalculated by computer to generate a high resolution image.
