Marine snow

Marine snow is a continuous shower of organic detritus (amorphous aggregates with colloidal properties) from the upper layers of the water column. These aggregates are composed of a mixture of cadavers, faecal matter and other debris, agglomerated into " flakes " and held together by mucus.
