Transient Ischaemic Attack
T.I.A. - A neurological accident (involving the nervous system) which is short lived (less than 24 h) and is caused by a cerebrovascular circulation problem.
A cerebrovascular accident can be the early warning sign of a cerebrovascular accident (lasting more than 24 h) which has more serious consequences: 25 to 30% of people who have an ischaemic cerebral accident will have a cerebrovascular accident within 5 years.
The causes must therefore be investigated and the victim should consult his/her doctor as soon as possible.
