Plague can present in three different forms:
Symptoms and features of septicaemic plague
Septicaemic plague occurs when the infection spreads directly into the blood circulation without the development of a "bubo". More often, however, in an advanced stage of bubonic plaque the bacillus ultimately reaches the blood.
Septicaemic plague can occur as a result of flea bites or from direct contact between damaged skin and infectious material.
