Paracetamol
Paracetamol (or acetaminophen) is the international non-proprietary name of a very widely used medicine which is contained in very many proprietary pharmaceutical products such as Doliprane®, lfferalgan®, and Dolko®. It is available in pharmacies without description but is nevertheless a medicine whose dosage must be observed, otherwise it may have serious effects on health.
Paracetamol has analgesic anti-pyretic activity similar in effect to that of aspirin but has almost no effect on inflammation. It does not have the side effects of aspirin, it does not damage the gastric mucosa and does not interfere with platelet aggregation.
Paracetamol is used for high temperature fever and pain.
