OCD
The OCD or obsessive compulsive disorders are behavioural disorders associated with anxiety. Symptoms generally develop in adolescence or early adulthood and can become chronic. The OCD affect both women and men.
To relieve their anxiety patients with OCD perform irrational ritual acts which make their life complicated. For example, these include compulsive hand washing, checking that taps are turnet off or doors are locked, etc.
Current theories suggest combined use of psychotherapy and medical treatment, may be effective.
However, studies are continuing to try and establish the causes of the disease in order to be able to offer better treatments.
