Mastectomy
A mastectomy is the surgical removal of the breast, usually preformed because ofbreast cancer. If the surgeon "only" removes the tumour and retains the rest of the breast, the term lumpectomy or conservative surgery is used.
The breast can be reconstructed after mastectomy.
