Fever

Fever is an abnormally high body temperature of over 38°C. It is generally caused by a bacterial or viral infection such as a cold or influenza but can also be a sign of a more severe problem. Fever as a symptom is often treated with aspirin and with ice bags, cold showers, or baths although these generally do not treat the underlying cause A high fever can cause brain injury.
