Roof purlins

Roof purlins are horizontal parts that connect the trusses of a roof structure and suppor the rafters. Subject to heavier loads, their sections vary between 63 x 17.5 to 10 x 25 centimetres. They are spaced every 2 to 3 metres.

A roof structure has at least one intermediary purlin, in addition to the upper beam and top plates. The latter are placed on the lower part of each side, on the long wall (load bearing wall, located under the roof drain).
