EUCEB
The EUCEB (European Certification Board for Mineral Wool Products) works to verify the compliance of fibres with the criteria of European Directive 97/69 of December 1998 defining carcinogenic nature or not of mineral fibres. It is based on four categories :
- Carcinogenic to humans (asbestos...);
- Probably carcinogenic (ceramic fibres...);
- Potentially carcinogenic;
- Cannot be classified as a carcinogen.
Note Q of this directive provides the following clarification : mineral wools that conform to the CE classification dissolve " at an acceptable rhythm " if they penetrate the human organism. Therefore, they correspond to category 4. The EUCEB (European Certification Board for Mineral Wool Products) checks the compliance of exemption criteria.
