SACD
SACD: Super Audio CD. The format created to eventually replace the CD. It allows the disk to hold more data for a claimed significant improvement in sound quality thanks to a bigger bandwidth and dynamic range (the sound is clearer and more natural). It also allows very high quality multi-channel reproduction if the disk has been recorded in this way. The disk is often multi-layered containing a layer compatible with an ordinary CD player and an SACD layer that can only be read by a player equipped with a specific decoder (SACD deck or multi-platform DVD deck).
