Roaming

Roaming is a service offered by telecommunications operators that allows mobile telephone users to call and be called while in a foreign country. To do this, the operators in the various countries make roaming agreements so that their subscribers' telephones can connect seamlessly to a foreign network (GSM, GPRS or UMTS) if necessary. This is of course a paying service and the communication tariffs are highly variable – but usually very high – from one operator to another.
