PKCS, Public Key Cryptography Standards
A set of de facto standards developed in collaboration by an informal consortium (Apple, DEC, Lotus, Microsoft, MIT, RSA, and Sun) that includes standards for specific algorithm applications or applications independent of any algorithm. The specifications defining message syntax and other protocols are controlled by RSA Data Security Inc.
