LCoS
LCoS: Liquid Crystal on Silicon. LCoS is a matrix used in some video projectors based on liquid crystals allowing a considerable increase in resolution and contrast and a reduction in response time compared to a conventional LCD matrix. Unlike the latter, the LCoS matrix uses liquid crystals placed vertically on a series of mirrors so as to almost completely remove the "honeycomb" grid pattern found on all images projected by a conventional LCD video projector. This is currently the only technology to offer very high definition compatible matrices without compression.
