Archean

The Archean is the second geological eon of the Precambrian supereon. It extends from 3800 million years ago to 1900 million years ago. In this eon the first single-celled organisms, the prokaryotes, appeared. During this period there were also several hundred million years of rain and the mean global temperature remained unchanged at about 23°C.
