Taq polymerase

Taq polymerase is a DNA polymerase used for the duplication of DNA in PCR reaction. This polymerase is extracted from Thermophilus acquaticus (a micro-organism which lives close to hydrothermal sources in which the temperature exceeds 100°C) and resists very high temperatures such as those used in PCR. It therefore remains active during the reaction.
