Nucleoside

A nucleoside is the constituent part of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) formed from a nitrogen base (purine or pyrimidine) bound to a sugar (pentose: ribose in RNA and deoxyribose in DNA). The four nucleoside units in DNA are: deoxyadenosine, deoxyguanosine, deoxythymidine, and deoxycytidine.
