Home network

A home network is a network that connects all the equipment and sensors in a house. It can be hard-wired or wireless.

Some networks use a home gateway. The home gateway is the central point for all the flows: telephone, data, video, images, music etc. It is connected on one side to a public network and on the other side to the home local network. It can also serve as a data storage station and provide security functions.

Thanks to progress in communicating interface technology, it may become unnecessary for the user to invest in a computer: the communication interface allows internet connections and the removal of intelligence to servers accessible via the communication network.
