DHCP

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a network protocol to automatically configure IP addresses in a computer network. It thereby avoids a user having to configure the IP stack of their hardware when connecting for the first time.

The DHCP runs with IPv4 and IPv6, but the latter does not actually need it.
