Backdoor

A backdoor is a confidential access point to an operating system, a program or an online service. These secret passages are included by software designers to provide private access for tests or maintenance. But hackers who discover them can defeat all the safety mechanisms and enter the system.
It also denotes small programs installed in the computer without the user's knowledge (usually by worms), and which give hackers control of the computer.
