Xylene

Xylene is a by-product of crude oil and is used as a varnish and paint solvent, in printing, in rubber and leather manufacture, for cleaning and in plant protection. The first symptoms of inhaling xylene vapour are headaches, giddiness, nausea, vomiting, loss of balance and, at higher doses, skin, eye, nose and throat irritation.
