Hydrogen sulphide

Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) is a chemical compound with one atom of sulphur (S) and two atoms of hydrogen (H).

It is highly toxic to man and is easily recognised by its smell of rotten eggs. It is the origin of the smell of rotting seaweed.
