Steppe

A steppe is a low herbaceous formation that is more or less open and sufficiently continuous to dominate the landscape. These formations are conditioned by low precipitation, but assume very large thermal amplitudes, which explains their distribution along the edges of tropical deserts and at high and middle latitudes in the continental zone.
