Pubescent

In botany, pubescence is a morphological characteristic of an organ (or an entire plant) covered by a layer of fine hair.

Often grey-white and very dense, the hair of these plants, called tomentose, looks like wool.

The hair found on borage (Borago officinalis) is characteristic of the Borraginaceae family. © janerc CC by-nc 2.0 The hair found on borage (Borago officinalis) is characteristic of the Borraginaceae family. © janerc CC by-nc 2.0
