Antibiotic sensitivity profile
An antibiotic sensitivity profile is an analytical method designed to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for the growth of bacteria in the presence of one or more antibiotics.
It can be performed in a liquid medium (a liquid bacterial culture) or on solid medium (using an agar Petri dish) by adding a known concentration ofantibiotic.
The MIC is the concentration which does not permit any bacterial growth.
